The storyline is as follows, sorry about the length.

HISTORY:
It was roughly the beginning of 1980, the street itself was old and yet four houses only separated by less then half a mile were sold to four growing families. Within the next year four children were born (three boys, one girl). Now minus these four children, their weren't many kids around. So it was no wonder that the mothers got together when the kids were still in diapers and had them playing. It was no shock when all four were best friends by age three. But what was surprising happened over time. What no one suspected was that nearly 30 years later, all four of them were still hanging out twenty-four seven, that all four were still best friends, still relying on each other, and still somehow holding onto their child-like innocence.

Ok so maybe things have changed over the years. For instance there was a time when Lucas, Hunter, & Scott were insistent that Gretchen had cooties and that she could no longer be their friend. This lasted about four days till of course Gretchen beat the hell out of Hunter for saying such a thing and he forgave her for being female. That was of course to beginning of Gretchen's crush on Hunter - a crush that annoys everyone a lot (except for captain oblivious aka hunter himself who can't seem to figure it out).

As the group grew other issues did come into play. Gretchen grew boobs, the guys started liking girls. Lucas was the first to realize Gretchen was a girl. He was the first to say the guys couldn't well... do certain things with her anymore. It was hard on him, his crush beginning first. But to respect her wishes and the fact that she still probably could and would kick his ass, he ignored his feelings for the next 15 years.

In high school their friendship was tested the most. Hunter became a trouble maker, Scott and Gretchen began to date, and Lucas found comfort in student activities. They fit into different groups and yet they always were together at lunch and after school it was always their group. Eventually though the Scott & Gretchen dating put a strain on the group so Gretchen choose the group over him. Hurt Scott a lot but he understood... kind of... sort of... maybe not but oh well.

College came, all four went in different directions but made time for one another. They began day group dates. At first it was football on Sundays followed by pizza. When they hit twenty-one it became Thursday nights at a local bar called Whiskeys. Chinese Monday was at one time in the mix along with Mexican Wednesday. They made group events and stuck to them until something made that event not work anymore and a new one came in. These days it's just Whiskey's due to time constraints on most schedules though every so often they now will take a weekend trip to go surfing or to go camping or to go to Las Vegas, etc.

Now, about two years ago the group really did almost end. Gretchen had gotten back with Scott in secret. Poor shy Lucas finally made his move on Gretchen. Gretchen told Lucas she had a boyfriend and he decided he didn't care and continued to pursue her and with success. He didn't care if she dated him and another guy and Scott, not knowing the other guy was Lucas, didn't care either. It wasn't right and it was shady as hell on Gretchen's part but for two months with Lucas knowing it was Scott, but Scott not knowing it was Lucas, Gretchen dated two of her best friends. It broke her down inside and nearly destroyed her with guilt and pain. When she ended it, she ended it for good with both guys. She made a promise to both that she would never toy with their feelings again and that she was sorry for being so selfish to have done that.

Both Lucas & Scott took things bad. Their was a fist fight which Scott did win. The group was never again the same, Hunter mad at both men for putting Gretchen in a situation like that to begin with. Gretchen still self loathing for the pain she caused the guys. Whiskey's was canceled for two months. But slowly things changed. Scott nearly died during a drug bust which started Gretchen and his friendship back up. Lucas met a nice girl who wasn't Gretchen but who kind of looked like her so he forgave her. Eventually the four were just one day back and whiskey's, no questions asked.

In the present things are still a little rough. Lucas & Gretchen had been very best friends for years, they had lived together for five years after she got out of college. Now, while they talk and hang out, things turn weird quickly. They'll be fine and then Lucas will make a move or Gretchen will say something that ticks him off and they have to walk away. It's taking a lot of time and frustrating effort on both of their parts to fix everything. Scott & Lucas are fine now though if Lucas gazes at Gretchen too long Scott is the first to nearly throw a fist. Hunter has forgotten anything even happened, or at least with a big grin and money to buy another round that's what he says when things get tense. They are friends, all of them, but it's hard. It may never be what it once was.

RELATIONSHIPS: Since the character that needs to be filled is Lucas, here is what his relationships are with everyone to date.

HUNTER - Hunter and Lucas have been close first and foremost for years. Growing up Lucas was the smaller boy and so Hunter took him under his wing. When it was clear that Lucas had feelings for Gretchen, Hunter taught him how to flirt with girls. When Gretchen started dating Scott it was Hunter who took Lucas to the gym and got him boxing lessons. Basically it has been Hunter who has always kept Lucas' steady and had his back through everything... until recently. He took Gretchen's side in the event and that did cause a strain but they're still cool. They still are each other's wing men. They still goof around together a lot.

SCOTT - Now here are too guys who both are quick to joke and laugh. Growing up these two were always cracking the group up. They were the pranksters when together. When they want to get along, these two are tight. But due to reasons, there have been times they haven't been. When they aren't good, they just nod. They barely speak but will be polite for Gretchen & Hunter's sake. They bounce back from fine to not fine. It's hard for anyone to ever guess what's going on between these two.

GRETCHEN - Gretchen knew from age twelve how Lucas felt and did nothing about it. They were each other's first kiss, her having taught him in a tree house. When she started to date Scott he asked her once why and she simply said because he asked. That was the worst and best line to ever give him. They became closer and best friends. She always went to him when things in her love life and sex life didn't work out. Lucas was the guy who always played with her hair, kissed her forehead, told her she was gorgeous and perfect and then proceeded to worship her. He was practically living in her dorm room when she was in College, the one who she saw daily. When they moved in together things were fine. They would stay up all night drinking and watching cheesy horror films. Both dated and so when coming home from dates they would discuss how it went. They basically did almost everything together so when they began to fool around well... Lucas said it was love and Gretchen ran for the hills. They are now trying to get back to how it was... but trying doesn't always work. They fight now, they shout now, they are dealing with things they never were prepared to deal with. But they're doing it. If not for each other then for Scott & Hunters sakes.
